Black Boy

From the first chapter we can tell there is obviously something wrong with this family. First off Richard, the main character, is always afraid. He is always afraid of getting beat and afraid of the consequnces of everything. Then his father left his family and he started to dread even thinking about him. Then he gets shopped of into the orphanage, which did not help him at all. In the long term it damaged him even more. Then at the end of the chapter he talks about how he met his father 25 years later. And how his father would never understand him.

  1. Hello, Clark. First of all, I would like to ask if Richard is alone in his cravings? Although you did mention how wrong Richard's childhood was, did he actually hungered for anything? What about the other characters around him? Did they hunger for anything? Maybe you should consider giving some thought to these questions.
