Cage the Elephant! Hurry it's escaping...You let it get away -sigh-

Listen to this awesome song. Its good, no better than good, no no it's the best... Well at least in my opinion.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKtsdZs9LJo

This song had the beats of alternative music, but i feel that it explains a deeper feeling. This feeling is of how the world is changing. It starts off with an older tune, which led me to think the song wouldn't fit my tastes. Later in the song it gets a faster tempo and a good storyline. the story line is how a prostitute approached him and he asks why she would do such a thing. She replies basically by saying that the world is getting worse and shes just doing her part. Later he wanders into the "wrong neighborhood" and he gets mugged. At this point he's like "woooooowwwwww" whats up with this world first a prostitute, and now i'm getting mugged. As along with the first person he asks why he is doing this, and the mugger replies that this world is messed up and he knows no better way. That he has kids to feed and there is nothing else he can do.

Finally at the end of this song he gets home and guess what! He turns on the TV and bam another bad/corrupted thing happens.

Okay, the true review starts here.------> The lead singer is Matt Shultz.
When I heard this song i thought of how corrupt the world is. When you listen to this song you can imagine you are the person and all these things are happening to you. When you listen to this song, expect to be amazed from the slower beginning then speeding up, then slowing down again.

Mr. Gatsby is like Eric Cartman... A manipulator!

Well so far in this book there have been many characters. The two that stick out are the two main characters Nick and Jay(mr. Gatsby). I think that the realationship between Nick and Jay is fake. I think of mr. Gatsby as a spoiled person who had everything and everyone he wanted growing up. And that perhaps he looks at Daisy as "the one who got away". So I think that Jay views his new "friend" as an opportunity to get Daisy back into his life. Jay so far has seemed like the kind of person who cares alt about other peoples view on him. Nick at first cared about how people looked at him but now later in the book I think he cares even more so that's why he is hooking up Jay with Daisy. All in all I think that by the end of this book Nick is ganna be used much more.

winter poem

The last couple of days,
all have little left of the vibrant sun rays,

what will we do now,
or even better how,

Kids will have snow ball fights,
older people will stay up all night,
soon it will be Christmas time,
bad kids will get nothing but coal and slime!

soon santa will be here,
i wonder what we will get this year,
maybe a new shiny skateboard,
how can my parents be asleep i just heard a snore.

any way the day is here now,
so imma go to sleep some how
goodnight to all
i feel like i'm going to fall,
asleep.

I am the best plow ;)

Me! You ask who I am??? I am the best plow in the world! I wake up every morning and stretch my wooden ligaments. Then off to a wonderful day in the corn fields. My job is to turn the soil to get the nutrients up, and to bury the weeds for more nutrients. The best part of my job is that I get to be pulled by these huge, monsterous beasts( I don't know what they are called but I call them gallopers). After being pulled In the fields till nightfall I return to my shed, where I will wait until tomorrow to do it all over again. Awww not again!!! The put me into a galloper's poo again.

Modern day slavery

Slavery a thing of the past? No! It's still very real. It has taken over 27million
people. This is still a small number compared to the past, but it needs to be abolished for good! An example of modern day slavery is how illegal imagrants are treated. They come here trying to male a Better life for their famliy or themsleves. Then they try to get jobs and the only ones they can find are jobs that require lots of physical endurance. Basically all the jobs that all the Americans don't want because they are to lazy to do amything besides eat at "da mickey D's". (Hooray for stereotypes?!) Well to top off the modernday slavery all of the workers get paid below minimum wage and work in bad conditions.

Can you see how the resemblance between the slaves of the past and the "slaves" of modern day? They both have below standards work conditions, work for litle to no money, and they are all being segragates against.

Goody McCarthy is a PURITAN!!!

In Salem there were witch trials that accused more than 200 people. These witch trials happened in the years 1692 and 1693. Of all these 200 people 20 were executed. after the execution of these 20 people the colony admitted that the trails were a misake. The families got compensated and then there were books, such as the crucible, made about this infamous event.
The puritans were a group of people who believed that the way of god was the only way there was. they made their society into a theocracy. a theocracy is when the government is based on a religion.
Nathaniel hawthorne was a short story writer who lived from 1804-1864. He is best known for his book "the Scarlet Letter". his view on humans awas a dark view at the most.

The moment I knew I was an American...

The moment I knew I was an American would have to have been in the last weeks of summer...I remember it like it was yesterday. Me and two of my friends, Charlie and Ryan, went paintballing. As I was growing up I would always see paintballing on the tv and idolize it. I would never go though because I never knew where to go or how to even do it. So finally I went paintballing and I loved it. I remembered all of the movies where the bachelors right before their wedding they would paintball. Then I thought to myself I'm truely an American teenager. And just to add to the fact I knew I was an American after, we went to B Dubs, bufallo wild wings. Then we all went home and did the very last stereotype for Americans and we all web home and played CoD Mw2.

Us Vs. Them/Us and Them?!?!

Everything dies. It's a fact. The question is whether or not something could be done to prevent it. All of the times on the news people are getting shot and killed in stupid accidents. These deaths can all be stopped if someone put thought into what they were about to do. Like when a gang member gets killed from a rival gang, instead of going out looking for that guy you should end the cycle. The thing people have to learn is an eye for an eye doesnt solve anything in the long run. And all of the accidental deaths that are stupid. Like when someone is driving and painting thier nails. Any person knows that it only takes about 2-3 minutes to paint your nails, instead they are going to drive worrying abou thier nails. Next thing you know billy-bob from down the block just got hit by your car. What i'm trying to say is that someone has to stand up and say, "i am going to stop the cycle of violnce!". then more and more people will follow and the world will be a utopia.

John Proctor: Hero or Stoog?

I think that Mr. Proctor over in the hisssouse was a hero. I think he was a hero because he died with honor. He did this by not signing a paper that said he was a witch/wizard. I think that he was a hero because after he had the affair with Abagail he cut it off because he was married and he knew it was wrong. i also think that he is a gero because he was like "i may look up at your window time to time, but he still doesnt act upon the urge to see her. Saying he can control himself and he is somewhat trust worthy.

sinners in the hands of an angry god!>!>!>!>!>!

"And if you do anything wrong he will drop you into the endless pit of fire!!!!", yelled the preacher. "Mommy i want to go home, he's scaring me! He wont let me do anything fun!", i said in a trembling voice. It was as if she could not even hear me... the way my parents were sucked up by what this obviuosly crazy man was saying. But i wouldnt end! I cried for my dad next. "Daddy this senile man is scaring me!" Like in a trance he was still sucked into what he was saying! Then i made my way for the door. thinking this was my only way to save myself. When the senile man yelled, "hey you there Boy, where are you going in the middle of my serman?" All i could think was oh my God im going to die, either from humiliation or this man's evil stare will end me for sure. He repeated, "hey you there Boy, where are you going in the middle of my serman?" At this time i grew a backbone and said, "I am leaving you crazy old man, im becoming a Catholic were im allowed at least some freedom." As i look back to this day i realized what a horrible desicion i made... All of his followers, even my parents, started chasing me out of the village. All i remember was me running and running. Then nothing...it was all black...And then there was light! Glorious light! When i was coming to i saw the faces of my grandparents, who were Catholic. They said, "son you are safe here eat, sleep, and do whatever you want from now on."

And there Goes the Neighborhood!!!

Genghis Khan!!! And there goes Asia. Genghis Khan was the ruler who united nomadic tribes. Born in 1162 and died in 1227. During those 65 years of his life he made the Mongolian Empire. He conquered many places such as Western Xia, Caucasus, and the Khwarezmid Empire. At all of the places there were mass slaughters. And so he was considered a brutal person. At the end of his life he controled most of Central Asia and China. He was buried in an unmarked tomb where it is still lost today.

The First

Hello! My name is Clark Shimoda and I'm a sophomore this year. I am Japanese and like the stereotype i loveee science, but I'm still not to great at it. I came into this school year thinking about how hard it was going to be. I still am wondering. I played hockey since i was 6 years old and i personally think its the best sport in the world. My position in hockey was left defence men or left winger. I think I'm still better being a defence men though. My second favorite thing to do is hang out with my friends,  usually playing paintball or golf, and have a good time. And my third favorite thing to do is reading a good book, which i consider fantasy or science fiction, for hours on end or cover to cover.
But lastly i have to say my most favorite past time is to watch a good movie. Some good movies i watched this summer were Battlestar Gallactica Razor, To Kill A Mocking Bird, and many many more. The best movie i saw this summer though i would have to say was Dinner For Shmucks. It had Steve Carrel in it and it was hilarious. And lastly i am hopping to have a good year in school again.
